James W. Dixon
President and Chief Executive Officer

Jim Dixon is President and Chief Executive Officer of CompuCom Systems, Inc., a leading IT outsourcing services company. Since 2004, Jim has led CompuCom's progressive growth through organic development as well as four strategic acquisitions, including most recently the North American operations of Getronics, a $450 million outsourcing company acquired in August 2008. In addition, he also led the company through the sale to Court Square Capital in 2007 from its previous owner, Platinum Equity. Today, CompuCom has more than $2.1 billion combined annual revenues with over $1.1 billion coming from outsourcing services.

A veteran of IBM and Bell Atlantic, Jim was recruited back to CompuCom in 2004 by Platinum Equity when they acquired CompuCom and took the company from public to private. One of his top priorities was to integrate GE IT Solutions, a $500 million business unit acquired from General Electric. Jim previously served as CompuCom’s CEO from 1988 to 1996, presiding over the company’s evolution from a regional product reseller to a national services integration provider.

Prior to re-joining CompuCom in 2004, Jim was CEO of Executive Consultants, Inc., a company he formed in late 2001 that specializes in management consulting to IT service providers and to investment firms involved in the acquisition of IT services companies. Previously, Jim was CEO and part owner of Broadreach Consulting, Inc., an IT staffing and eBusiness development company.

In 1988, Jim's initial tenure as CEO of CompuCom began when Safeguard Scientifics purchased CompuShop, a division of Bell Atlantic. He led the merger of CompuShop and two other companies into CompuCom. Under Jim's leadership over the next eight years, CompuCom significantly expanded its industry position and increased revenue by over 900 percent through a combination of organic growth and additional acquisitions.

Jim's professional experience includes executive-level positions with Bell Atlantic and IBM. He has also served on the boards of five different public companies, as well as the board of CompTIA, an IT industry association. He is a well-respected technology expert in the IT and outsourcing sectors, and has been an invited speaker on these topics at numerous industry events and forums. Jim has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Louisiana Tech University.

“CompuCom delivers tier one quality at a tier two value to Fortune 1,000 and mid-sized companies.”
