Flexible Node LicensingFlexible Node Licensing is based upon various quantity ranges for the Altiris product licenses. For Altiris licenses for clients, the minimum quantity is ten. For server-based licenses, the minimum quantity is one. Any PC that functions in any way as an Altiris client requires a node license. PCs that are used solely as Altiris control consoles do not require a node license.
Media Kits: Altiris product media is only fulfilled electronically. An end-user e-mail address is required. Additional media CDs are optional and must be purchased separately.
Annual Upgrade Protection (AUP): AUP coverage entitles the software user to all version upgrades, updates, and feature enhancements to the product during the coverage period. Generally, one year of AUP coverage is included in the software license purchase. Clients may purchase additional AUP coverage with the original license at any time during the coverage period or for up to 90 days after the coverage period has ended.
Fee-Based Priority Support: Altiris provides a variety of fee-based training, technical support, and consulting services. PCs that function in any way as an Altiris client require a node license or must be covered under a node or site license. For example, any PC used as the object for a RapidInstall Package (RIP), PC Transplant personality package, or a Disk Image File requires a license.

Pricing is on a per-node basis. The greater the number of nodes inventoried, the lower the cost per node. A minimum of 500 nodes must be purchased.
Option 2: Managed SolutionThis option is ideal for organizations that are looking for a long-term asset management solution managing or dedicating internal resources to it. Monthly data will be supplied for software/hardware inventory as well as usage. Clients receive all of the long-term benefits of implementing an asset management solution without the risks of deployment or the dedication of internal resources. The Managed Solution also facilitates better budgeting by setting a fixed cost for the management of software contracts and assets. The client receives the maximum discount on the Altiris technology and does not have to manage the annual maintenance and support payments. Pricing is on a per-node basis. The greater the number of nodes managed, the larger the discount. A minimum of 500 nodes must be purchased.
Option 3: Perpetual LicenseThis option is ideal for the organization that is looking for a long-term asset management solution and that has the resources to manage it internally. The client has the ability to implement exactly what technology is necessary to support a long-term asset management solution for its organization. The perpetual license can be augmented by adding on other Altiris management solutions, including Client Management Suite, Asset Management Suite, and Altiris eXpress Solutions. A license must be purchased for each node managed by the solution, and the client has the option of purchasing maintenance, technical support, and additional products from Altiris. Implementation and consulting services from CompuCom or Altiris are also available for purchase.
