What is your role at CompuCom?
As a product manager my role is to evaluate market and client needs to ensure CompuCom delivers solutions that meet these needs in a way that clients see value and CompuCom is successful. I am responsible for defining and delivering products and services that are focused on end-to-end IT managed services and digital solutions.
Share a little about your background.
I graduated from the University of Nebraska with a BS in computer science. I’ve spent the past 20 years in product management in the cellular, enterprise wireless, and managed IT services sectors.
Why did you choose to work at CompuCom?
I was looking to expand my experience into areas of product management that I had not worked in before. Previously, I managed hardware and software products. Services was something that intrigued me, and when the opportunity with CompuCom opened up, I pursued it.
What are some key achievements at CompuCom?
Officially launching CompuCom’s IntelliCare and SmartNOC services and more recently our wireless fail-over service.
What is a fun fact about yourself?
As a young man looking for a way to support myself and make my way through college, my love of airplanes inspired me to join the Air National Guard. I served 26 years on multiple deployments supporting Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. I served in three Air Guard units, Nebraska, Kansas, and Texas. After the horrific events of Sept. 11, 2001 occurred, I found myself on multiple tours. They weren’t my favorite deployments, but we were there for a reason.
I never expected that I would stay in the Air Guard for so long, but my time there went by quickly. I forged many great friendships. It was great life experience for me, but being a reservist is very different from working full time. I retired as a Master Sergeant in the Texas Air National Guard in 2010.
What are your interests?
Outside of my work at CompuCom, I officiate Texas High School football games and serve on the statewide board of directors for officiating football in the state of Texas.
