CompuCom is passionate about supporting the communities in which we live and work. We strive to enhance the quality of life in these communities through volunteering, driving sustainability in all areas of our business, and supporting international human rights principles.
Office Depot® and CompuCom believe that sustainability plays an essential role in the success of our company, our industry, and our communities, now and for future generations. Together, we have 17 sustainability targets aligned with the internationally recognized Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Developed by the United Nations—and agreed on by other governments and over 500 companies—the goals aim to achieve a balance between three sustainability dimensions: environmental, social, and economic.
To increase our sustainability across all of our organizations, our primary focus is on energy consumption, transportation emissions, and enriching our local communities.
CompuCom Cares sponsors philanthropic organizations and events while also encouraging and recognizing associates' participation in volunteerism. The program's success depends entirely on the efforts of all of our associates company-wide. In 2019, U.S.-based associates donated 5,094 hours to the cause of their choice.
As part of CompuCom Cares, associates in our Paulsboro, NJ facility have coordinated and hosted an annual golf tournament since 2017 to raise money for three charities. Every year, the charities are selected through associate recommendations and associate votes. In 2019, our associates chose to support Mission 22, Preeclampsia Foundation, and Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health. These charities are dedicated to fighting veteran suicide, improving the outcomes of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, and to serving individuals in areas of autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities, specialty mental health, and child welfare.
CompuCom believes that all of our associates should feel comfortable, accepted, and empowered, which is why we are exceptionally proud of our Affinity Groups. These volunteer groups are formed, led, and powered by associates to promote a culture of diversity and inclusion within our organization and within our communities. Our groups, Women in Technology, LGBTQA+, Veterans, and Black / African American, continue to drive meaningful change and CompuCom looks forward to championing future Affinity Groups.
