The CompuCom® Business Service Management (BSM) Snapshot allows organizations to understand their technology maturity in terms of vision and steering, culture, people, process and technology. The BSM Snapshot establishes a formal baseline for improving service effectiveness and organizational maturity. Our approach is to strategically plan at the enterprise level while maintaining the flexibility required to address immediate tactical requirements.

We use a structured quality methodology in our approach that drives focused definition, solution design and implementation planning. The BSM Snapshot methodology is based on the Six Sigma Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control methodology and includes the following phases:

  • Define — We meet with key members of your IT management team and verify the IT strategy and vision. We define the Critical to Quality requirements of the key goals and priorities, the internal and external challenges, and the corporate initiatives that will impact IT strategies.
  • Measure — We conduct an operational analysis that examines the IT infrastructure and staff, the IT operational budget and financial concerns, future initiatives, and service level agreements.
  • Analyze — In this final step, the measurement data that we’ve collected is analyzed to identify where the IT organization ranks in the BSM maturity spectrum. We identify areas of improvement and strategies for establishing a path to enhance your IT business value.
