CUSTOMER ZERO

Our Proving Ground? Our Own IT.

We Made Our Data
Give Up the Story.

So, we built Full Lifecycle Observability (FLO), the operating intelligence that turns Compucom’s  IT data into a clear, actionable story. It connects operational telemetry, asset and lifecycle records, service data, device experience, application health, infrastructure performance, and cost — leveraging AI to give us one connected view of what's happening across our environment, why it matters, and where to act next.

Now, FLO tells the story. Agentic AI helps act on it. Governed AI agents can trace issues across endpoints, networks, applications, cloud, and infrastructure, assess their impact, and investigate, recommend, or execute the next approved action.

Our CIO knew the challenges hiding in our environment were the same ones costing our customers time, money, and productivity.  So  he made Compucom Customer Zero — proving every new intelligence, automation, and AI capability in our own enterprise first.  Every solution we deliver has already delivered results here. Here's where we chose to focus, and how far we've come.

What was happening?

We established monitoring across critical systems to track availability, performance, and emerging issues. Teams gained a shared baseline, though fragmented data still made investigation reactive.

Turned the lights on.

Why was it happening?

Correlation engines and enriched alerting connected symptoms to root causes. Analysts moved from reacting to patterns toward diagnosing them, reducing noise and accelerating triage.

Connected the dots.

Where could action create value?

Predictive models and automated workflows began resolving known issues before users noticed. Capacity planning, self-healing scripts, and proactive outreach shifted the operating posture from reactive to preventive.

Acted before impact.

What can AI agents take on?

Goal-driven AI agents now coordinate across systems, executing multi-step workflows with human governance. Operations continuously optimize performance, cost, and risk while maintaining full control and auditability.

Agents in the loop.

What happens when agents lead?

Autonomous, intelligence-driven agents act independently within governed boundaries, continuously improving operations and connecting IT decisions directly to business value. IT becomes a trusted partner in the business's competitiveness, not just its infrastructure.

Outsmarted the problems.

From Visibility to Autonomous Intelligence.

Our goal: autonomous intelligence, where AI, automation, and our own expertise work together to run the environment, and we're getting there.

Below, see how we choose what to focus on in our journey and how far that work has already taken us.

We Didn't Guess. We Scored It.

As FLO started telling the story of our environment, we started seeing hidden risks and opportunities. We ran an impact assessment across every capability — scoring each one on the value it could create against the effort it would take to deliver. That told us where friction, waste, and risk were actually concentrated, not just where the dashboards looked clean.

From there, we built a maturity model to close the gap between where we stood and where our CIO wanted us to go — using FLO's data to guide the roadmap instead of guessing at priorities..

AI & Automation: Governed, Measured, and Already at Work.

‍

Our internal AI and automation program runs on the same rigor we hold every enterprise capability to: formal security and ethics policies, full visibility into usage and spend, and agentic workflows already running in production.

‍

Milestones:‍

Governed From Day One: Formal AI security and ethics policies in place enterprise-wide, with role-based access and audit controls enforced for every AI tool

Spend & Usage, Fully Visible: 60% greater visibility into token/AI usage • 25–30% lower token costs through tooling and user alignment ‍

Consumption Under Control: 15% reduction in software consumption costs in one year • 17% fewer portfolio applications through redundancy elimination

Noise Down, Signal Up: 95% event noise reduction using AIOps • Agentic workflows already running across IT and business processes

‍

‍

Service Desk: AI-First Support. High-Touch Results.

‍

Compucom's internal Service Desk is now AI-first: AI and automation resolve more routine issues before they reach an analyst, while the team sustains strong first-contact resolution, CSAT, and SLA performance.

‍

Milestones:

Less Backlog, Faster Response: 34% smaller average backlog • 15% faster digital response

Automation Opportunities Exposed: 10 targeted opportunities identified • Stronger first-level resolution potential

Resolution Up, Satisfaction High: 96% first-contact resolution • 95% CSAT • Near-perfect SLA performance

AI Takes the First Shift: Up to 60% of AI-assisted sessions resolved without an agent • 87% reduction in resolution time leveraging AI • 30% reduction in per contact support costs

‍

‍

Device Lifecycle Services: Augmented with Visibility and Automated Ordering

‍

Our internal Device Lifecycle Services run on a set of purpose-built systems and certified processes that connect every stage of the device lifecycle — so nothing is handed off, and nothing gets lost between procurement and disposal.

‍

Milestones:

Asset Visibility, Not Guesswork: Manual reconciliation replaced by governed CMDB tracking • Hardware and software assets mapped with built-in compliance reporting

Order Automation Closes the Gap: Manual quoting replaced by direct system-to-system ordering • Automated quote generation from request to fulfillment

One Standard for Every Device Retired: Ad hoc evaluation replaced by consolidated depot processing • Every device graded, repaired, or disposed against one consistent standard

Cloud & Infrastructure: Endpoint Signals Reveal Infrastructure Risk

‍

Today, FLO, AIOps, automation, and AI agents connect the full operating picture across Compucom’s critical applications and resources — showing availability, capacity, performance, security, compliance, operational efficiency, and cost in one story. Our teams are moving from reacting to problems to preventing them. As our observability capabilities continue to mature, endpoint telemetry is becoming an increasingly important early-warning signal that will help reveal infrastructure risk before broader disruption occurs.

‍

Milestones:

One Connected Operating Foundation: 40+ data sources integrated • 3,600+ data points connected across the enterprise

Application Health in One View: AI-driven baselines for critical applications • Holistic health views across availability, capacity, performance, and cost • Clearer visibility into where to act

Provisioning in Minutes, Not Weeks: Server provisioning reduced from about one month to 15–20 minutes • Governed approvals built into ServiceNow and Terraform

Anomalies Found in Minutes: 30+ networks and ~250 network devices monitored • Anomalies detected in 2–5 minutes • Every finding investigated automatically • Endpoint telemetry adds an early-warning signal

‍

Endpoint Management: Problems Found Before Employees Notice.

‍

Now, for our device estate, telemetry and automation surface poor health and recurring issues before they disrupt employees, while the fleet sustains strong compliance, patch currency, and device confidence.

‍

Milestones:

A Trusted View of the Fleet: 98% workstation confidence • Management-tool confidence increased from 83% to as high as 99% • 84% fewer devices missing patches or updates

Compliance Up, Poor Health Down: 65% fewer non-compliant devices within 60 days • 32% fewer endpoints classified as poor health

Health Improved, Fixes Accelerated: 40% improvement in excellent device health • 54%decline in poor device health within six months • Common remediation reduced from 25 minutes to about 30 seconds • Move to performance based refresh

Auto-healing at Scale: 16 new automations improved poor-health scores by about 5% • Monthly auto-heals increased from 846 to 6,305 • Poor-health rate fell from 22% to 17% in one month and now sits below the 10% target
