2020 REPORT

Our Sustainable Development Goals

We have developed 17 sustainability targets that align with the internationally recognized Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Developed by the United Nations, and agreed on by other governments and over 500 companies, these goals aim to achieve a balance between three sustainability dimensions: environmental, social, and economic.

Sustainability

HELPING PEOPLE, COMMUNITIES, AND BUSINESSES THRIVE

We believe that sustainability plays an essential role in the success of our company, our industry, and our communities, now and for future generations. To increase our sustainability across all of our organizations, our primary focus is on energy consumption, transportation emissions, and enriching our local communities.

Sustainable Operations

MINIMIZE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

In 2019, our Advanced Configuration Center in Paulsboro, NJ implemented an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. This environmental stewardship program is a framework to minimize our environmental impact, reduce the risk of pollution, and ensure our facility is compliant with local, state, and federal regulations. We are committed to sustainably growing our operations and making sure all orders processed through our facility will follow sound environmental practices.

We are also dedicated to achieving the following two objectives:

  • Implement energy-efficient LED lighting upgrades in all global locations (USA, Canada, Mexico, and India) by 2025.
  • Equip each facility with sustainable alternatives to disposable tableware, including compostable, paper, or reusable options, by 2024.

Helping You Make Smarter Technology Choices

MEET YOUR ENVIRONMENTAL GOALS

We are currently evaluating the environmental impact of all technology products we distribute to our customers. We use the Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) created by the Environmental Protection Agency to evaluate things like energy efficiency, product longevity, product packaging, material usage, and manufacturing chemicals. We then rank products by their effect on the environment. Our goal is to help you choose devices that not only fit your needs and preferences but also meet your environmental goals.

Combatting E-Waste

RESELL - REUSE - RECYCLE

Electronics are the fastest growing solid waste stream in the world caused, in part, by manufacturers driving consumers into faster and faster upgrade cycles.  Compucom’s mission is to reduce e-waste by reselling and reusing devices. It keeps quality devices in use and out of landfills. For devices that can’t be resold or re-used, we use certified R2 recyclers for minimal environmental impact. In addition, every device that comes through our IT Asset Disposition service is properly wiped of sensitive data to protect your company and brand from costly data breaches.

To stay at the forefront of innovation for e-waste prevention, we have partnered with Intel to develop a battery life diagnostics tool that identifies applications that shorten device lifespans.
